About the Hmong People
The Hmong People are among the seven hill tribes of Northern Thailand affected by the unsustainable nature of agriculture subsistence and a nomadic lifestyle. The sale of their unique artisan handicrafts provides opportunities for improving quality of life for tribal people in Northern Thailand. Craftsmen and women earn 60 per cent on the sale of their items.
About Thai Tribal Crafts
Established in 1973, Thai Tribal Crafts (TTC) is an agency sponsored by the Christian Service Foundation, working with communities and artisans of the seven hill tribes of Northern Thailand for the production and sale of traditional handicrafts. TTC operates under the principles of Fair Trade to provide opportunities for improving the quality of life of the tribal people in the Northern Thailand. TTC is a certified member of the World Fair Trade Organization and a legal member of International Federation for Alternative Trade (IFAT).
